A Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane (number 97004) with 46 people aboard has gone missing on a demonstration flight in Indonesia. The aircraft vanished from radar near Bogor, a city in West Java province.

The plane disappeared from radar screens during a flight from Jakarta, which was planned to last 30 minutes. It was confirmed by the emergency services that the aircraft is missing.

PASSENGER COMFORT
Jumbo Jet Comfort
Capacious seats and a wide aisle provide a comfortable environment for passengers and onboard service.
The 3+2 cabin seating arrangement makes it possible for airlines to offer a jumbo jet comfort level and eliminates "bottlenecks", which is important for passengers on flights of more than an hour.
Again, the tall and broad cabin provides more comfort as it accommodates wider seats and a wider aisle. Passengers are provided with additional comfort as there is more room for their feet under the seats and more "living" space around the heads of the passengers in window seats.
The overhead compartments have the largest capacity available on aircraft of this class, without any loss of the living space available to passengers.
The aircraft’s dimensions make it possible for each airline to engineer its own optimal passenger cabin configuration based on the wide range of accommodation options in terms of number and arrangement of seats both in business and economy class, the line-up of galley equipment, and the installation of an extra toilet module and other fixtures.

BAGGAGE COMPARTMENTS

The configuration of the airframe of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 family aircraft makes it possible for airlines to offer more space in lower baggage holds than their competitors, thus being in a position to carry larger payloads. The higher ceiling of the baggage compartment makes it easier to handle cargo and improves the performance of ground-based personnel, at the same time complying with the latest recommendations of European trade unions of such staff. Access is facilitated by a high cargo door.

COCKPIT

Sukhoi Superjet 100 family aircraft will feature a state-of-the-art cockpit of standard configuration to make it unnecessary for pilots to undergo conversion training when switching to another aircraft of the series. This will reduce maintenance costs and those of cockpit personnel training. The crew will be aided by new side stick controls.
The cockpit avionics are being developed by the Thales company. The equipment in question is the most advanced of its kind to be installed on aircraft of this class. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 avionics have the advantages of higher flight safety and high reliability, and offer the option of upgrading each system module.
